Web poker has become globally acclaimed lately, with televised events and celebrity poker game events. The games popularity, though, stretches back in reality a bit farther than its television ratings. Over the years several variations on the original poker game have been developed, including some games that are not quite poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of the above-mentioned games. Regardless of the name, Caribbean stud poker is more closely affiliated with chemin de fer than traditional poker, in that the players bet against the casino instead of the other players. The winning hands, are the established poker hands. There is no bluffing or different kinds of deceptiveness. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to ante up prior to the dealer declares "No more bets." At that point, both you and the casino and of course all of the different players attain 5 cards each. After you have observed your hand and the casino’s 1st card, you must either make a call wager or bow out. The call bet’s amount is akin to your original ante, which means that the risks will have doubled. Surrendering means that your bet goes immediately to the house. After the wager comes the showdown. If the house doesn’t have ace/king or better, your bet is given back, including a sum in accordance with the ante. If the dealer does have ace/king or better, you win if your hand defeats the dealer’s hand. The dealer pays out money even with your ante and fixed expectations on your call wager. These odds are:

  • Equal for a pair or high card
  • two to one for two pairs
  • 3-1 for 3 of a kind
  • 4-1 for a straight
  • 5-1 for a flush
  • 7-1 for a full house
  • twenty to one for a 4 of a kind
  • fifty to one for a straight flush
  • one hundred to one for a royal flush
