Online poker has become world acclaimed lately, with televised tournaments and celebrity poker game events. The games popularity, though, arcs back quite a bit further than its TV scores. Over the years numerous types on the first poker game have been created, including a few games that are not in reality poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of these games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is more closely resembling chemin de fer than long-standing poker, in that the players wager against the bank instead of each other. The succeeding hands, are the long-standing poker hands. There is no conniving or other types of deceptiveness. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to pay up just before the croupier declares "No more wagers." At that moment, both you and the dealer and of course all of the other gamblers are given five cards each. Once you have seen your hand and the dealer’s 1st card, you need to in turn make a call wager or give up. The call bet’s amount is equal to your beginning ante, which means that the stakes will have increased two fold. Abandoning means that your ante goes instantaneously to the house. After the bet is the showdown. If the bank doesn’t have ace/king or better, your bet is returned, plus a sum equal to the initial bet. If the house has a hand with ace/king or better, you win if your hand defeats the dealer’s hand. The bank pays out money even with your wager and fixed odds on your call bet. These expectations are:
- Equal for a pair or high card
- 2-1 for 2 pairs
- three to one for 3 of a kind
- four to one for a straight
- five to one for a flush
- seven to one for a full house
- twenty to one for a 4 of a kind
- 50-1 for a straight flush
- 100-1 for a royal flush
