Annie Duke might not have earned her first WSOP Bracelet until ‘04 but she remains one of the most powerful poker competitors around the live action games at The Bellagio in vegas. Annie’s longawaited WSOP bracelet came with a win at the "forgotten game" of Omaha hi/lo.

While players from the "younger crowd" of poker go wild after a big win at the tournament, Annie goes home to be "mom" to her four children. She was born in New Hampshire into a family of card players. If you do not believe that, check out her brother, Howard Lederer, in action who coached her how to participate in the game.

However, Mrs. Duke is no small-potatoes girl and has won her share of challenging tables, including eliminating Howard a few times along the way. They are both competitors that have the capability to acquire the big $$$$$ and do so with a grin.

Mrs. Duke is a tough player at any table considering that she is a real poker player, but it is a bit more than simply being skilled at the game. Annie is surprisingly smart and graduated from Columbia U where she double majored in English and Psychology.

When you take a seat across from her at the table you will see she is there to compete in the game and she begins "sizing" you up from the time you join the table. If you can not wager like a Champion, then do not bother.

Earning over $3 million in tournament play, Annie Duke branched out to become a consultant to both UltimateBet.com and Hollywood actor Ben Affleck, who was looking to enhance his skills and become a power at the tables.

You might just glimpse her at the Bellagio, you’ll definitely notice Annie on television and you may even compete against her in a cyber poker match, but don’t expect a simple win. Except of course you are a champion-in-the-making, you will not defeat her. Although, it would be exciting to say you played at the at the table with "The Duke".
