Poker has become world famous as of late, with televised competitions and celebrity poker game events. Its popularity, though, stretches back quite a bit farther than its TV ratings. Over the years many variants on the earliest poker game have been created, including a handful of games that are not quite poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of these particular games. Regardless of the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely related to blackjack than old guard poker, in that the players wager against the house rather than the other players. The winning hands, are the long-standing poker hands. There is little conniving or other types of deception. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to pay up prior to the dealer declares "No further bets." At that instance, both you and the dealer and of course every one of the different players are given five cards. After you have seen your hand and the bank’s initial card, you need to in turn make a call wager or accede. The call wager’s value is equal to your original ante, indicating that the risks will have doubled. Bowing out means that your wager goes immediately to the house. After the wager is the face off. If the dealer does not have ace/king or greater, your bet is given back, plus a sum in accordance with the ante. If the house does have ace/king or better, you succeed if your hand is greater than the casino’s hand. The casino pays cash equal to your initial bet and set expectations on your call bet. These odds are:

  • Even for a pair or high card
  • 2-1 for two pairs
  • three to one for three of a kind
  • 4-1 for a straight
  • five to one for a flush
  • seven to one for a full house
  • twenty to one for a 4 of a kind
  • fifty to one for a straight flush
  • 100-1 for a royal flush
